In response to growing customer demands for fabrication services at our Brewer, Maine fabrication facility, Troy Industrial Solutions is making a focused investment on increasing its production capabilities across the board, including bringing in strong leadership. We are pleased to announce that Brett MacLean has joined us as production manager of our Brewer facility. Brett is an experienced manager with deep knowledge of every level of the metal fabrication business, having worked on some of the most well-known projects in the Northeast.
Brett has more than 30 years of experience working in steel fabrication. He has learned the intricacies of fabrication through hands-on, hard-won experience. Brett started in the business as a janitor and worked to master every part of the fabrication business as he rose through the ranks.
“There is no one better qualified to manage our Brewer fabrication facility than Brett,” said Dave Barcomb, vice president at Troy Industrial Solutions. “As the demand for our fabrication services continues to grow, we are continuing to make the best investments in that facility, whether it’s the right people or the right machinery. Brett knows every step of the fabrication process. That level of understanding is invaluable to our customers as they trust us with their projects.”
Before joining Troy Industrial Manufacturing, Brett spent close to two decades as operations manager at Newport Industrial Fabrication in Maine. Newport focused on using carbon steel to create structural and ornamental steel projects, including the North Bank Pedestrian Bridge in Boston, MA, linking parks in Cambridge and Charlestown.
“Most of the projects at Newport Industrial Fabrication were quite large and intricate, often taking many months to a few years to build,” said MacLean “I look forward to applying that experience to the faster pace at Troy’s Brewer facility, bringing the highest level of quality, detail and reliability to our customers.”
Previously, Brett spent three years as a working foreman at Cianbro Fabrication and Coating and 10 years at Maine Cascade Ironworks. He is a graduate of Dale Carnegie, Crestcom Bullet Proof Manager training, and Arnson Environmental Hazardous Waste Management training.
Brett lives in Fairfield, Maine with his wife. He has two adult children. He spends his free time volunteering in the community, learning the art of home brewing beer and traveling with his wife. His favorite destination is the coast of his beloved home state of Maine.
