TROY INDUSTRIAL SOLUTIONS MAKES PLEDGE TO INVEST IN HVCC’S APPLIED TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION CENTER and FUTURE-SKILLED LABOR STUDENTS
Watervliet, NY – Troy Industrial Solutions (TIS) is pleased to announce its commitment to Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) and its efforts in training the workforce of tomorrow. HVCC is dedicated to designing solutions to solve the skilled labor crisis and has launched plans to create a new Applied Technology Education Center (ATEC). TIS has pledged to donate $10,000 over a two (2) year period to the project. The new 130,000-square-foot facility will be filled with modern equipment, tools, and technology, allowing the college to attract and increase enrollment in programs for essential industries.
At TIS, we have made it a priority to invest in the future of our youth and to invest in their career development in skilled trades. TIS currently employs an apprenticeship program for its Motor Shop Technician group. This program supplements HVCC’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology training curriculum. Apprentices work part-time while attending school, and TIS generously reimburses 100% of their educational expenses. At the successful completion of the HVCC degree program, the apprentice then transitions to full-time employment at TIS with a 3-year commitment of employment.
In addition to the apprenticeship program, TIS initiated a scholarship last year announcing our pledge to support the promotion and growth of manufacturing jobs for future generations. Because of this pledge, TIS will once again be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to one graduating high school senior, anywhere throughout the U.S., who is interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing or skilled trades and plans to enroll full-time in an accredited college, university, or technical trade school in the fall semester of 2025. The scholarship targets students pursuing degrees or certifications in mechanical engineering, welding, CNC machining, or electromechanical technology.
