Watervliet, NY — Troy Industrial Solutions is proud to announce that Jason Wade Smith, 33, has been appointed to the position of president, effective immediately. Smith who was Vice President succeeds his mother Karen E. Smith, who will remain as company chairwoman and treasurer.
Smith is the third generation owner of the family run business which was founded in 1862 and celebrates its 150th anniversary of continuous operation this year. Ray L. Smith, Jason’s grandfather, purchased the business in 1948 and it has been operated by the Smith family ever since.
“I’m at the right point in my life where I’m ready to take on the responsibility,” Smith said during a recent interview. “We are well on our way to recovering from the recession. If things go really well, we could potentially have our best year ever.”
This announcement comes as Troy Industrial Solutions enters into the hydraulic repair business to round out the breadth of industrial maintenance and repair services it provides to a broad range of customers, from aggregates and paper mills to power generation and nanotechnology.
Troy Industrial Solutions is expected to significantly expand its work force this coming year.
