The VIBRATION TECHNICIAN performs data acquisition and data analysis services in-shop and at customer sites. Perform electrical tests and vibration analysis and repairs using various electronic equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies.
  • Must possess excellent verbal communication, team interaction and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer and standard software experience (MS Office, E-Mail, CMMS, etc.)
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use, application and maintenance of vibration data acquisition software and the diagnostic equipment used to track the health of the customer’s critical rotating machinery
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze vibration data
  • Perform electrical tests and vibration analysis using various portable electronic equipment
  • Knowledge of general rotating equipment fundamentals
  • Field balance, laser alignments, install and removal of electric motors and other electro-mechanical equipment
  • Collect route-based vibration data for Predictive Maintenance Programs at customer sites
  • Perform vibration-based diagnostics to assess the condition of electric motors and generators
  • Use vibration data and analysis to create Machinery Assessment Reports in a professional manner
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions as-needed
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures
  • Maintain close relationships with customers as well as the sales, marketing, field service, and service center technical teams
  • Perform and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures

Education, Experience, and Abilities

  • Two-Year Technical, Military experience or 4-year College Degree
  • At least 2 years’ experience measuring, recording, and analyzing vibration data; with Previous experience with Pruftechnik VibXpert, Emerson CSI 2120/2130/2140 or equivalent
  • Certification verifying Level 1 Analyst (or higher)
  • Have a valid, or ability to obtain a TWIC card.
