Troy Industrial Solutions is looking for a motivated, career minded individual with proven experience to fill a Conventional / Manual Machinist position. The individual in this position is responsible for fabricating and/or repairing large and small components as needed by our manufacturing facility.  This is a job-shop environment with a fluid schedule.  We do provide some short run / small batch parts production for a few customers but most of our work is one-off parts for customer jobs.

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, radial arm drills and more.
  • Proficiency in the use of manual equipment, reading micrometers and utilizing digital readouts is a must.
  • Reverse engineer old or obsolete parts and recreate to proper specifications and materials.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, diagrams, and the occasional back of a napkin
  • Basic equipment maintenance and work area cleanliness
  • Review job orders that require machine work and provide estimate on time required for repair or fabrication



To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of standard machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and more
  • Ability to produce features on parts to tolerances of +- 0.001”
  • Requires a demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team



  • Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of manual machining equipment required
  • Two-year degree from a technical school or certificate from an industrial program preferred.
