The CNC MACHINIST is responsible for diagnosing, assessing, repairing, programming, resurfacing, or producing new motor or related equipment parts to address the customer’s need. Assists shop and service technicians with mechanical, electrical and rewind work.


  • Review job orders that require machine work and provide estimate on time required for repair or fabrication to manager.
  • Program and operate CNC machine
  • Repair or resurface broken and worn motor and related equipment parts that may include the use of lathes, mills, grinders and gas and electrical arc welders.
  • Fabricate required parts to specifications using any necessary equipment.
  • Review shop and service mechanics’ micrometer readings when requested.
  • Assist shop or service technicians with mechanical or electrical repairs and motor rewinds.
  • Maintain all machine shop equipment in good working order. Report any needed repairs/replacements.
  • Respond to all company and customer requests in a timely manner. In an emergency, or to meet an unexpected deadline, you may be asked to come into work, respond to customer calls, or go to a worksite outside your regularly scheduled hours
  • Ensure that all safety rules are followed at all times. Report safety concerns and injuries timely and accurately.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with applicable mechanical/technical skill required
  • CNC programming in MasterCam required
  • Experience with grinders, mills, lathes and gas and electrical welders a plus.
  • Two-year degree from a technical school or certificate from an industrial program preferred
  • Military machinist experience desirable
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to: stand frequently and for several hours at a time; climb, reach and carry parts and equipment; lift 50lbs unassisted; work in extreme (hot and cold) temperatures and weather conditions.
